The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. POSITION DESCRIPTION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Before payment of any expenditure, check authorization levels, budget availability, budget line on which the expense is to be allocated.
  • Make sure donors are invoiced on time or debit memos are prepared and sent on time.
  • Ensure coherence between orders, quotations/offers, purchase   orders, call for tender documentation, procurement memo, contract, invoices, receipts, works/services completion certificates.
  • Keeping a bank balance-tracking sheet up to date and coordinate with the program coordinator for bank balance in local and foreign currency.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all accounting records, ensuring that records are complete, accurate, and safeguarded.
  • Adherence to financial procedures Proactive support and advice to project staff and partners in relation to finance issues/activities Scan all contracts and other financial documents as well as supporting documents on regular basis.
  • Fully responsible for audit planning, field visits if necessary, and works with the auditors until completion of audit.
  • Preparation and compiling of monthly financial reports and required donor reports
  • Keep track of any discrepancies and resolve discrepancies.
  • Accurately record all transactions in cash and bank book and Excel Sheet.
  • Responsible for cash management and ensuring that all financial regulations and policies are abided by.
  • Facilitate timely submission of financial and donor reports as required
  • In charge of project close out/year end procedures
  • Ensures documents are scanned and forwarded/received to the project management on the agreed dates.
  • Ensures that all scan documents are uploaded to the specified link on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure a proper and adequate filing system for financial documents.
  • Works closely with HR department and finance assistant for transmitting of salaries to project staff on a monthly basis.
  • Carries out other finance, administrative and support duties as assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors   in   Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking   or any Social   Sciences.
  • Good computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • At least two years previous experience in relevant work
  • Accuracy in the processing of cash transactions, mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Honesty and integrity in all work activities.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations with no outstanding items.
  • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written English skills
