ABOUT FMF:

Since 2012, even amidst the most perilous phases of Yemen’s conflict, the Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has steadfastly operated in the region. Our committed team of professionals and volunteers tirelessly extend aid, sourced from both local and international partners, to those most in need, within a nation already grappling with pre-existing hardships. To date, our efforts have facilitated humanitarian assistance to over 13 million vulnerable Yemenis, offering not only sustenance but also pathways toward reconstruction. Our objective is to adopt a holistic approach, ensuring our interventions comprehensively address the needs of the afflicted populace taking into account PSEA and GBV prevention.

Yemen’s youth stand at a crossroads. Conflict and displacement have disrupted countless lives, leaving many young people struggling to access basic necessities, let alone crucial sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. But amidst the hardship, a beacon of hope shines FMF’s unwavering commitment to supporting Yemeni youth in claiming their right to SRH information and comprehensive healthcare.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Youth Consultant will lead the development of health survey tools to assess Reproductive Health and Family Planning (RH/FP) needs, which will utilize survey findings to create comprehensive health packages tailored to youth requirements. Additionally, the consultant will provide training on humanitarian response and Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) implementation to be instrumental in operationalizing youth health clinics. The consultant’s responsibilities include conducting surveys, facilitating workshops, and ensuring active youth participation. He /She will collaborate with stakeholders, support capacity-building initiatives, and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop survey tools and oversight the implementation of a youth health survey to identify RH/FP needs in collaboration with FMF MEAL department.
  • Develop comprehensive health packages and IEC materials based on survey findings.
  • Adapt and update reference manuals and training toolkits.
  • Organize workshops to establish technical working groups (TWGs) that will participate in revising comprehensive health packages, reference manuals, and training toolkits.
  • Organize workshops to revise, update, and reach consensus on comprehensive health packages, reference manuals, and training toolkits.
  • Prepare a list of the required equipment and furniture for the youth-friendly clinics at the universities.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Developed health survey tools for assessing RH/FP needs.
  • Comprehensive health packages tailored to youth requirements based on survey findings.
  • Training sessions on humanitarian response and MISP implementation.
  • Operationalized youth health clinics and the Youth Training Center.
  • Conducted surveys and facilitated workshops.
  • Ensured active youth participation.
  • Collaborated with stakeholders.
  • Supported capacity-building initiatives.
  • Contributed to monitoring and evaluation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced degree in medicine, public health, or related field.
  • Experience in reproductive health programming, particularly with youth populations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in similar positions.
  • Experience in survey tools development.
  • Experience in guidelines and training tools development.
  • Experience in designing workshops.
  • Strong coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
  • Familiarity with Yemen’s context and humanitarian settings is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Excellent English and Arabic languages (Writing and speaking) are required.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
