Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. JOB DESCRIPTION:

FMF is implementing a Reproductive Health Project in four governorates (Aden, Abyan, Al Dhale’a and Shabwah) to deliver quality Emergency Obstetrics and lifesaving RH services to the beneficiaries. Field monitor who is following.

POSITION DESCRIPTION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Junior Assistant for GBV (Gender-Based Violence) and Youth plays a crucial role in supporting initiatives related to gender-based violence prevention and youth empowerment. Responsibilities typically include:

  1. Program Support: Assist in the implementation and coordination of GBV and youth-focused programs, ensuring adherence to project timelines and goals.
  2. Data Management: Collect, organize, and maintain accurate data related to GBV and youth activities, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant protocols.
  3. Awareness and Training: Support in organizing and conducting awareness campaigns and training sessions on GBV prevention and youth development within the community.
  4. Documentation: Prepare reports and documentation on program activities, outcomes, and challenges, contributing to regular updates for stakeholders.
  5. Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations, fostering a participatory approach in program planning and execution.
  6. Resource Mobilization: Assist in identifying potential funding opportunities, preparing proposals, and contributing to fundraising efforts for GBV and youth initiatives.
  7. Networking: Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders involved in GBV and youth-related work.
  8. Advocacy: Participate in advocacy efforts to promote awareness and policy changes related to GBV and youth issues, ensuring the organization’s voice is heard.
  9. Capacity Building: Contribute to the development and implementation of capacity-building activities for individuals and communities in the areas of GBV prevention and youth empowerment.
  10. Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of program activities, providing input for continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
  11. Administrative Tasks: Assist in administrative tasks related to the GBV and youth programs, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and handling correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in public health, medical doctor with experience in initiatives related to gender-based violence prevention and youth empowerment.
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in a comparable position. Strong experience in coordinating and planning of Project activities.
  • Strong team leadership and technical expertise are critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently.
  • Maintains focus on priorities.
  • Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications.
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications (e.g. MS Office and Excel.
