About The Project
According to 2019 Humanitarian Needs , acute malnutrition among children under the age of 5 is estimated at just over 2 million children, including nearly 360,000 Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases. Given that a child with severe acute malnutrition is 11 times more at risk of death than a healthy child, preventing, detecting and treating malnutrition among children and improving IYCF practices are essential life-saving interventions that will contribute significantly to reducing the impact of the ongoing conflict on children in Yemen. Due to the current situation, FMF is proposing a project that aims to detect, prevent and treat acute malnutrition among the most vulnerable population (children under five ‘ land pregnant and lactating women (PLW) ).

Detailed responsibilities and tasks:

Data Collection

Ensure accurate and timely collection and collation of data related to the nutrition program.

Ensure that the nutrition data is collected in a correct and appropriate way.

Capacity build/ mentor nutrition staff including data management assistants on data collection tools, proper data collection processes and the use of nutrition database.

Data Quality Management

Support other data management assistants and nutrition assistants or field staff in ensuring efficient and reliable data handling procedures.

Perform regular data quality checks in collaboration with M&E to validate accuracy, completeness and reliability of the data.

Overal management of the Nutrition Data Base

Data Reporting & Analysis

In collaboration with senior nutrition officer, nutrition manager, senior nutrition manager and nutrition coordinator, the nutrition data management officer will;

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, interim and annual data reports as required to meet FMF reporting standards.

Assist with the extraction of nutrition data for reporting or as requested.

Share the nutrition data with nutrition staff and Nutrition .

Monitor and analyze nutrition information and data system to evaluate the performance of nutrition programs.

Technical Supervision and Mentorship.

Support or capacity build data management assistants on the usage of the database and reporting of the collected nutrition data.

Conduct regular field visits to mentor field nutrition assistants or staff on nutrition data collection, management and reporting.

Required qualification and experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Nutrition, Health Information system (HIS), Public Health, Computer Science programs.
  • Ability to work  under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  • Good understanding of data management functions such as collection analysis and validation.
  • Proficient in MS office (Excel, Access, Word etc.).
  • Good understanding of CMAM database and reporting tools
  • Previous experience in data management will be added advantage.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic is essential.
