FMF is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2012.

Job Description

According to 2020 Humanitarian Needs, acute malnutrition among children under the age of 5 is estimated at just over 2 million children, including nearly 360,000 Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases. Given that a child with severe acute malnutrition is 11 times more at risk of death than a healthy child, preventing, detecting and treating malnutrition among children and improving IYCF practices are essential life-saving interventions that will contribute significantly to reducing the impact of the ongoing conflict on children in Yemen. Due to the current situation, FMF is proposing a project that aims to detect, prevent and treat acute malnutrition among the most vulnerable population (children under five, pregnant and lactating women (PLW)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement the nutrition services in the mobile team operation areas
    • Screen children and PLWs for SAM&MAM and refer complicated cases to SCs
    • Provide therapeutic treatment for beneficiaries in the third level of catchment areas around HFs according to standard guideline.
    • Follow up defaulters and provides treatment for them according to standard guideline.
    • Provides nutrition beneficiaries with routine CMAM medication and commodities.
    • Keep registration of CMAM beneficiaries for both SAM and MAM
    • Submit weekly and monthly reports to the mobile clinic leader on regular basis
    • Participate in the mobilization Process and collect the report form the CHVs
    • Decide when to discharge OTP and SFP beneficiaries
    • Work in collaboration with CHVs supervisors to gather the monthly report from the CHVs.
    • Ensure that all anthropometric measurement tools are valid for work on daily basis.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the team leader.

Job Requirements

 
  • Diploma degree medicine, dentistry, Nursing, medical assistant or in nutrition is required.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in CMAM and IYCF.
  •  Very good communication skills
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situation
  • Preferable from the same district or Governorate.
