Position: GLRA (DAHW) Coordinator at the Field Medical Foundation (FMF)

Background:

Field Medical Foundation (FMF), is a non-profit non-governmental organization, established in 2012 as an independent entity. Currently, FMF is representing the German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA) in Yemen which is a registered German association called DAHW since 1957. Since 1989, DAHW Yemen is supporting the efforts to contribute towards the achievement of national targets for Leprosy, TB, NTD, through planning, monitoring, evaluation, logistic, financial support, networking and provision of necessary resources. The country program has coordinated and supported the efforts to facilitate people with disabilities and their families to fully participate and be included in society.

Objectives:

The overall objective of DAHW is to relieve suffers from patients of leprosy, tuberculosis and other poverty-related diseases and the consequences they bring such as physical disability and social exclusion – irrespective of political or religious belief.

Scope of the work:

  • She/he will be responsible to follow up on the legal registration for DAHW in Yemen.
  • She/he will be responsible for effective coordination with the National TB and Leprosy Programs (NTLP).
  • She/he will be responsible to follow up NTLP to provide quality and timely reporting of TB and Leprosy statistics of the country and sharing it with DAHW.
  • She/he will follow NTLP for the activity implementation in 2020.
  • She/he will be responsible for the follow up of the duly implementation of the project according to the implementation plan, log-frame indicators and the financial framework of the project.
  • She/he will be responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting (technical and financial) according to DAHW handbook reporting formats and policies.
  • She/he will be responsible for follow up on the payment of project staff and all governorates’ coordinators of NTLP as appointed in the project.
  • She/he will provide continuous field supervision, monitoring and evaluation and whatever other tasks would be required to ensure the efficient, effective and transparent implementation of the activities.
  • She/he will represent FMF-DAHW towards national institutions, UN Agencies, national and sub-national clusters and international donors based in Yemen.
  • She/he will represent FMF-DAHW when attending local meetings, conferences and seminars with national institutions, UN Agencies and international donors based in Yemen.
  • She/he has to participate in resource mobilization for FMF-DAHW and follow up on the development of proposals in cooperation with the FMF Grants unit.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical doctor and master degree of public health and/ or other related subjects.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in surveillance, management and leadership.
  • Knowledge and experience of collaboration and building relations with relevant Ministries and NTLP, NGOs/INGOs, National and sub-national clusters, private sector, and donors.
  • Ability to work independently and at times with little supervision.
  • Experience with innovative approaches to funding and fundraising.
  • Able to influence and manage in a complex environment.
  • Flexible, ability to travel frequently to the field at short notice.
  • Proficiency in the English language and fluent Arabic language.
  • Strong computer literacy.
