About The Project

According to 2019 Humanitarian Needs , acute malnutrition among children under the age of 5 is estimated at just over 2 million children, including nearly 360,000 Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases. Given that a child with severe acute malnutrition is 11 times more at risk of death than a healthy child, preventing, detecting and treating malnutrition among children and improving IYCF practices are essential life-saving interventions that will contribute significantly to reducing the impact of the ongoing conflict on children in Yemen. Due to the current situation, FMF is proposing a project that aims to detect, prevent and treat acute malnutrition among the most vulnerable population (children under five ‘ land pregnant and lactating women (PLW) ).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide CMAM services among vulnerable groups (U5, PLW) together with the OTP worker
• Provide primary health care services (OPD, IMCI, EPI, RH) according to the standard guideline that prescribed in ministry of health, UNICEF, and WHO.
• Conduct clinical examination of all patients especially children under 5 years old with signs of Acute Malnutrition.
• Prescribe routine and basic treatments according the protocol used in respecting the drug dosage based on the weight of the patient.
• Regular follow-up of the severe and Moderate cases of Malnutrition together with OTP worker.
• Regular Supervision on CHVs activities in the targeted district.
• Assist in Providing the expanded program of immunization services through apply routine and booster vaccination to targeted children.
• Conduct the regular check and report the statistics to FMF on weekly basis.
• Submit regular supply request to the governorate coordinator.
• Submit Success stories of project activities on regular basis
• Work in collaboration with the Team to ensure the quality medical care, taking in consideration the non-medical problems encountered by the patients (feeding and caring problems etc.)
• Provide the needed assistance and supervision to the mobile team on health and nutrition issues
• Conduct any other duties related to the project activities as assigned by the direct supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Able to prepare plans, reports, Success Stories, and leadership skills.
• Very good communication skills
• Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situation
• good level in English (writing in particular)
• Creativity– actively seeks new ways of improving program services
