ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The GBV Case Worker will provide direct case management services for women and girls at risk of or experiencing gender-based violence within Women and Girls Community Centers (WGCCs) in Abyan and Al-Dhale. The role ensures safe, confidential, and survivor-centered support in line with GBV case management standards and organizational procedures.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
GBV Case Management:
- Conduct intake, assessment, safety planning, case action planning, and follow-up for GBV survivors.
- Provide survivor-centered case management services in line with GBV guiding principles.
- Ensure informed consent and confidentiality throughout the case management process.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential case documentation.
Referral and Coordination:
- Facilitate safe and timely referrals to health, psychosocial, legal, shelter, and other specialized services.
- Coordinate with internal and external service providers to ensure comprehensive support for survivors.
- Participate in case conferences and coordination meetings as required.
PSS and Support Assistance:
- Provide emotional support and Psychological First Aid (PFA) to survivors when needed.
- Support survivors in identifying coping strategies and accessing available services.
- Monitor survivors’ progress and support safe case closure processes.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular case management reports and updates.
- Ensure proper filing and secure storage of case files and related documentation.
- Support data collection and reporting requirements while ensuring confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Gender Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in GBV case management or protection programming.
- Strong understanding of survivor-centered approaches and GBV guiding principles.
- Experience working in humanitarian or emergency settings is preferred.
- Strong communication, case management, and interpersonal skills.
