POSITION SUMMARY:
The Reproductive Health Field Assistant will lead, oversee, and technically supervise all reproductive health activities within the CEmONC center at Hays Rural Hospital and the supported PHC facilities in Hays District. This position will be based in Hays and ensure adherence to national RH and CEmONC standards, coordination with GHO/DHO, and quality assurance of service delivery.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure effective implementation of RH activities as outlined in the project proposal, work plan, and MoPHP guidelines.
- Manage and supervise RH service delivery in assigned health facilities.
- Assist health and Nutrition field officer in manage and supervise health and nutrition service delivery in assigned health facilities.
- Work closely with the CHVs to conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about RH services and address social stigma.
- Assist health and Nutrition field officer and the other project team to manage the CHVs regular monthly meeting.
- Manage logistics and supply chain for RH commodities.
- Monitor and report on program performance using relevant indicators.
- Assist health and Nutrition field officer in implementing of all project activities.
- Closely monitor health diagnosis and classification of RH disease at the targeted facilities.
- Conduct Regular supervision field visits to ensure the quality of the provided Health, Nutrition and RH services at the targeted HFs.
- Work with the project team to create success stories.
- Assist, plan and implement any necessary training for Reproductive Health staff with the support of project manager.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely collection of reports.
- Participate in coordinating meetings and any other representative events.
- Assist in stock movement of RH materials; oversee storage of reproductive health kits, keep the supply chain functional with assistance from supply chain.
- Analyze periodically the reproductive health situation of the beneficiaries and the community.
- Ensure that health staff at the targeted health facilities understand and follow the treatment guidelines and protocols recommended by MOPHP.
- Submit weekly/monthly technical RH reports.
- Carry out any other reasonable responsibilities as requested by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A medical doctor or midwife or any other relevant subject or any related field.
- 2 years of experience working with NGOs, particularly in the protection sector.
- Strong understanding of the target population’s context and healthcare system.
- Proven experience in implementing CemOC and BeMO projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with international guidelines for sexual and reproductive health in both emergencies and development.
- Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Fluency in written and spoken English is Mandatory.
