JOB DESCRIPTION:

FMF is implementing an enhancing vaccination coverage for under-immunized children in vaccine resistant communities through demand creation interventions Project targeting Ahwar district of Abyan governorate and Mukalla district of Hadramout governorate. The response focuses on contributing to the decrease in vaccine-preventable mortality and morbidity in Ahwar and Mukalla districts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the planning, implementing and monitoring of the community activities of the project.
  • Coordination with all the stakeholders (GHO, DHO and other IPs) to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
  • Engage project beneficiaries and community members throughout all project stages, including establishing a feedback mechanism.
  • Conduct regular meetings with community leaders and health committees to get feedback on the quality of the program and update them on the progress of activities.
  • Organize and supervise community activities including preparing schedules, ensuring all supplies are available and vaccines are received
  • Ensure that data collection, storage and analysis meet the minimum reporting requirements of the program indicators.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for the staff on using recording and reporting formats.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly project success stories to showcase achievements.
  • Ensure health facilities and project implementation sites have all the required inputs to enable them to implement a quality program.
  • Conduct regular field visits to the Health Facility (HF) and community- based sites and monitoring the daily activities of the project.
  • Conduct media and vaccination Campaigns in Schools, Workplaces, Community Centers in targeted districts.
  • Ensure the availability of the required tools for CHVs and community influencers in targeted districts
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health or any related fields
  • Experience in community mobilization and capacity building for CHVs and community influencers.
  • 1-2 years community work experience, preferably related to the type of project
  • Previous training in vaccination messages is preferred.
  • Previous experience in coordination with GHO, DHO, clusters and community committees and leaders).
  • Experience in conducting media and vaccination Campaigns.
  • Excellent skills in monitoring implementation of program activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication verbally and in writing as well as inter-personal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field sites
  • Become conversant with the various generic tools such as assessment and survey techniques and questionnaires.
  • Ability to identify potential problems before they occur. Proactive in preparation and uses initiative in response.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, knowledge of English is desirable.
  • Reporting Skills are Required.
  • Good computer skills.
