JOB DESCRIPTION:

FMF is implementing an enhancing vaccination coverage for under-immunized children in vaccine resistant communities through demand creation interventions Project targeting Ahwar district of Abyan governorate and Mukalla district of Hadramout governorate. The response focuses on contributing to the decrease in vaccine-preventable mortality and morbidity in Ahwar and Mukalla districts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and train a team of Community Health Volunteers and other community influencers.
• Supervise and support Community Health Volunteers and community influencers within the overall health and community program.
• Developing and monthly and quarterly work plans, including messages to be prioritized vaccination to take place.
• Make a list of priorities in terms of information and awareness on Vaccine messages.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Promote the project’s objectives and activities to community members through various communication channels
• Conduct monthly meeting with community health volunteers and community influencers to discuss all related issues and to put plan for the coming period.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
• Mobilize and engage community members to actively participate in project activities, such as training sessions, workshops, and events.
• Provide regular updates and reports on community mobilization activities, progress, and challenges to the project team.
• Prepare and submit activity reports as required.
• Adapt the methodology and health education support to the relevant public in order to make them attracted.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in Sociology, Social Work or any related field.
• Work experience in Community mobilizing in Vaccination activities
• Good interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
• Ability to handle a large volume of work and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and planning skills attention to detail.
• Preferable from the same Gov and district as well
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
