ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating recreational activities for children, youth, and adults within FMF’s Community Centre, as well as conducting awareness-raising activities. The CC Facilitator will also support the creation of a schedule of the center activities, as well as maintain the space equipped and organized. The CC Facilitator will identify individuals in need of further assistance and will refer them to FMF staff for additional services.
POSITION DESCRIPTION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain a safe, welcoming, and child-friendly environment within the community center.
- Organize and facilitate structured play, recreational, and learning activities for children.
- Identify children in need of psychosocial support and provide age-appropriate counseling and therapeutic activities.
- Collaborate with the case management team to refer children to specialized services, as needed.
- Raise awareness among children and their caregivers on child protection issues, including prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Report suspected cases of child abuse or exploitation to the appropriate authorities and support referrals.
- Assist in the implementation of child safeguarding policies and procedures within the community center.
- Conduct outreach activities and engage with the community to strengthen support for children’s well-being.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to reporting, and participate in team meetings.
- Assist with the organization of any other community center activities, as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Must adhere to FMF’s mission, values, and code of conduct.
- Must treat all partners and beneficiaries with dignity and respect.
- Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the CC senior officer.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree in social sciences or any other relevant subject or related field.
- one1 year of experience working with I/NGOs, particularly in the Protection sector.
- Strong experience working in a humanitarian/recovery complex and volatile contexts.
- Knowledge of access to services and referral mechanisms.
- Demonstrated familiarity with protection principles, standards, and procedures.
- Strong experience with monitoring tools and systems relevant to case management.
- Experience in mainstreaming protection concepts within a humanitarian operation.
- Strong organization, collaboration, representation, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the area of responsibility and understanding of local communities and customary rules.
- Native Arabic is essential. Strong computer knowledge and skills and prior experience working with smart data collection tools such as KOBO.
- Be available for regular training provided by FMF and support in identifying staff training needs.
- Respect confidentiality of data and information.
- Attention to detail and ability to communicate professionally and effectively – practical and problem-solver.
- Able to ensure quality delivery in a stressful environment, punctuality, respect for rules and procedures, and adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to deal with heavy work pressure.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
