The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the country. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance throughout the program cycle from design, and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. S/he will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a system for regular communication with FMF staff. Technical assistance will be provided through selecting existing up-to-date guidance documents that are appropriate for FMF’s programs and the development of additional guidance documents as needed. S/he will provide virtual and onsite technical assistance and assist with the SRH component of proposals generated from the country office and HQ. The SRH Officer will collaborate closely with other technical advisors and all other departments to carry out tasks and will engage with internal and external technical working groups to improve the quality of SRH programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Implementation:
- Ensure effective implementation of RH activities as outlined in the project proposal, work plan, and MoPHP guidelines.
- Manage and supervise RH service delivery in assigned health facilities and/or mobile clinics.
- Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about RH services and address social stigma.
- Provide counselling and education on family planning methods, safe motherhood practices, and sexual and reproductive health.
- Manage logistics and supply chain for RH commodities.
- Monitor and report on program performance using relevant indicators.
Capacity Building:
- Train and provide ongoing technical support to healthcare personnel on RH protocols and best practices.
- Foster collaboration and build partnerships with relevant stakeholders within the health sector.
- Advocate for the integration of RH services into broader health programs and policies.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Collect and analyze data on RH service utilization and quality.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on program progress and results.
- Conduct needs assessments and inform program adaptation based on findings.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, and trainings.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Liaise with donors and provide updates on program activities.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Conduct regular briefing and supervision of midwives, use quality checklists to improve quality of care, assess technical and qualitative performance, and provide on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring as required to ensure quality service delivery, plus collection data from handover facilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Medical Doctor degree specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Managing SRH Program in Yemen, experience in UNFPA Projected preferred
- Strong understanding of the target population’s context and healthcare system.
- Proven experience in implementing CemOC and BeMO projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with international guidelines for sexual and reproductive health in both emergencies and development
- Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Fluency in written and spoken English is Mandatory
