Job Purpose:

The Health Facility Officer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of health facilities in the assigned area. The officer will work closely with the MNCH Assistant/ Officer, health facility staff, community health workers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality health services that meet the needs of the target population.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supervision visits to the targeted health facilities in all targeted districts regardless of the based location of the position.
  • Ensure that health facilities are adequately staffed, equipped, and stocked with essential medicines and supplies.
  • Develop and implement systems for the management of health facility operations, including patient flow, appointment scheduling, and record keeping.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to health facility staff on the delivery of quality health services, including maternal, newborn, and child health services, family planning, and HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of health facility operations to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community-based organizations, to promote health services.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports on health facility operations and outcomes
  • Ensure that all health facility activities are implemented in compliance with national and international standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay up-to-date on health best practices and innovations.
  • Responsible for collecting information of nominated participants of trainings.
  • Referral focal point which will ensuring that all referrals are approved according to the patient referral criteria established by the mission.
  • Evaluate each referral proposal and validate according to agree upon criteria.
  • Ensuring and follow up the management of patients referred.
  • Responsible for financial payment of referral vehicle.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the health program coordinator.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, nursing, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in managing health facilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of health service delivery, including maternal, newborn, and child health services, family planning, and HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
  • Familiarity with national and international guidelines and standards for health service delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including health facility staff, community health workers, and government officials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic languages.
