The supplementary Nutrition Project team visited Zonjobar district of Abyan governorate to follow the progress of the activities of the supplementary feeding project and the work of the preventive distribution points within the supplementary feeding program implemented by #FMF in the province of Abyan with funding from the World Food Program #WFP.
The team visited the distribution points in Al-tomaisi ,Bashihara and Amodia in Zonjobar district in Abyan governorate During the visit, the team listened to an explanation from the coordinator of the medical Foundation team in the governorate of Abyan, Dr. Hisham Fadhel, about the nature of the ongoing work and the smooth distribution according to the conditions and standards followed, and the achievements and difficulties. Encounter during distribution.
Awareness activities were also conducted for beneficiaries during the distribution of communicable diseases (# dengue, # malaria and # cholera), and the project team commended the efforts of staff and volunteers and wish them success.
It should be noted that the Field Medical Foundation is implementing a supplementary feeding project among children with moderate acute malnutrition and those under five years of age as well as pregnant and lactating women in addition to the implementation of preventive intervention between children under the age of two and pregnant and lactating women to prevent malnutrition. The supplementary food project targets six governorates(# Lahj, # Al-Dhale, # Shabwa, # Abyan, # Aden and #Hadhramout) with 22 districts, 90 health facilities and 428 distribution points.
