Protection and CCCM Activities to IDPs and Conflict Affected.
Overview
Yemen, at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, endures one of the world’s most severe humanitarian emergencies. After a decade of conflict since 2015, over 19.5 million people—more than half the population—require urgent humanitarian aid and protection, up from previous years due to economic collapse and climate shocks.
More than 4.5 million remain internally displaced, ranking Yemen among the top global displacement crises. The economy has halved, pushing over 83% of Yemenis below the poverty line. Public services are in tatters: only about 50% of health facilities operate, 65% of schools function, leaving millions of children out of education, and nearly 90% lack reliable electricity. Essential workers, like teachers and health staff, often go unpaid for years, exacerbating vulnerabilities amid rising food insecurity and malnutrition.
FMF works to enhance vulnerability assessments at the community level. Through this, it aims to improve protection analysis, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most effectively, all in collaboration with UNHCR.
But it’s not just about data—it’s about fieldwork. The Organization delivers targeted protection interventions through community centers, mobile outreach teams, and Community-Based Protection Networks (CBPNs).
