ABOUT FMF:
FMF is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen. Under Oxfam partnership, FMF implements a protection community center project in Marib, providing integrated protection services to IDPs and conflict-affected populations. Core services include case management, PSS, recreational activities, and legal support. For 2026, the project has been renewed and expanded to include new components such as livelihood support through skills trainings for GBV survivors, as well as supporting community-led protection advocacy initiatives.
To ensure effective day-to-day management of the Community Center and quality delivery of protection services, FMF seeks to recruit a Project Assistant (Protection) to serve as the primary focal point at the Community Center and support the Senior Community Center Protection Officer in operational, technical, and coordination functions.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Assistant (Protection) supports the effective implementation of Community Center protection activities by assisting with coordination, supervision, and monitoring of services at the field level. The role contributes to ensuring that protection interventions are delivered in line with approved workplans, FMF standards, and donor requirements, while maintaining strong engagement with communities and relevant stakeholders.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the day-to-day implementation of Community Center activities and service provision in line with the approved workplan.
- Support planning, tracking, and documentation of activities conducted at the Community Center.
- Contribute to administrative tasks, filing, and record-keeping in accordance with FMF and donor requirements.
- Provide direct day-to-day supervision to the community center team, including Social workers, Psychologist, Lawyer, and CFS Facilitator. Monitor staff adherence to protection principles, SOPs, Code of Conduct, and confidentiality standards.
- Provide technical follow-up and on-the-job support to staff as needed. And report performance-related challenges or capacity gaps to the Senior Project Officer.
- Supervise the full case management process, ensuring quality and compliance across all six steps, review case files regularly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. Ensure informed consent, safe referrals, and survivor-centered approaches are applied at all times.
- Coordinate with service providers and maintain effective referral pathways. Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive service mapping for the targeted areas. Identify gaps in services and report them to the Senior Community Center Protection Officer for action and advocacy.
- Support coordination with community leaders, committees, and CBPNs in targeted sites. Facilitate and document regular coordination meetings with community leaders and CBPNs, as assigned.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of community-led protection advocacy initiatives and campaigns.
- Collect and document community feedback, protection concerns, and emerging risks, and share them with project management.
- Support the implementation of livelihood activities for GBV survivors, including coordination of skills trainings and start-up kits, in close coordination with relevant project staff.
- Assist the organization and delivery of trainings and capacity-building activities. Monitor participation, progress, and challenges and report accordingly.
- Prepare and submit regular monthly reports to the Senior Project Officer, and contribute to donor reporting by providing timely and accurate inputs as requested.
- Ensure proper documentation of meetings, trainings, case management supervision, and community engagement activities.
- Support coordination with local stakeholders at the field level, including local authorities, service providers, and community structures, as delegated.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Senior Project Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A university degree in in social sciences, law or any other relevant subject or any related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in protection programming, preferably in humanitarian or displacement settings.
- Demonstrated experience in case management, preferably GBV and/or child protection.
- Experience working with community-based structures and community mobilization.
- Prior experience supervising staff or volunteers is an asset.
- Strong understanding of protection principles, survivor-centered approaches, and confidentiality.
- Solid knowledge of case management processes and SOPs.
- Strong coordination, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to lead meetings with community leaders and CBPNs.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
- Good computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Commitment to humanitarian values and principles. Adherence to safeguarding policies, and zero tolerance for breaches of confidentiality, abuse, or misconduct.
