PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project aims to address acute watery diarrhea outbreaks in the Khanfar and Lawdar districts through coordinated health interventions. The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of Treatment Centers (DTC) and Oral Rehydration Centers (ORC) during the implementation period.
JOB DESCRIPTION
To support daily project activities, coordinate with health facilities, gather reports, and ensure the smooth running of DTCs and ORCs across the project duration.
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Coordination
- Assist in daily coordination of project activities and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Support communication between project management, health facilities, district health office level and teams at DTCs and ORCs.
Health Facility Follow-up
- Regularly follow up with health facilities to collect performance reports and monitor activities.
- Provide support to health facility staff in implementing project protocols.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect and compile reports from DTCs and ORCs for analysis and decision-making.
- Ensure accurate documentation of activities, outcomes, success stories and lessons learned.
Logistical Support
- Assist in the organization and distribution of medical supplies and resources required for DTCs and ORCs.
- Support the planning of training sessions and community outreach activities.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation efforts by gathering information and feedback from beneficiaries.
- Suggest improvements based on observations from the field.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in General Medicine and Surgery.
- Experience in project support, particularly in health or emergency response settings.
- Familiarity with WASH practices and healthcare delivery in emergencies is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The role may require travel within the 2 districts to various health facilities.
- Work may be subject to a dynamic and challenging environment related to health emergencies.
