ABOUT FMF:

The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

BACKGROUND:

Y-PEER is a regional youth network led by young people with the support of UNFPA. It focuses on reproductive health, youth empowerment, and civic engagement through peer-to-peer education and community participation.

In Yemen, Y-PEER governorate-level teams play a crucial role in planning and implementing youth-led activities. The Y-PEER Junior Field Support will serve as the focal point at the governorate level, responsible for coordinating and supporting field implementation, supervising youth volunteers, and ensuring proper reporting to the project management.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

To act as the focal point for Y-PEER in the governorate, responsible for the day-to-day coordination, implementation, and reporting of Y-PEER activities, while providing technical and logistical support to youth teams and ensuring effective communication with the project management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as the main contact person for Y-PEER activities at the governorate level.
  2. Coordinate, plan, and supervise the implementation of peer education sessions, workshops, and youth-led community events.
  3. Mobilize, guide, and support youth volunteers in planning and conducting activities.
  4. Ensure logistical arrangements for all activities (venues, materials, coordination with stakeholders).
  5. Monitor activity progress and collect data including attendance sheets, photos, and feedback from participants.
  6. Prepare and submit regular activity reports (weekly/monthly) to the project officer.
  7. Represent Y-PEER in local coordination meetings, trainings, and community events.
  8. Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from the field.
  9. Perform any other tasks requested by the project management that align with the role.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Young person aged 20–30 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or current student in final years) in social sciences, public health, education, or related field – OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in youth/community work, mobilization, or project implementation (voluntary or professional).
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise youth volunteers.
  • Experience in writing brief reports and documentation.
  • Basic computer and digital skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
  • Fluency in Arabic is required; English is an asset.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES:

  • Monthly implementation plan for Y-PEER activities in the governorate.
  • Successful coordination and execution of peer education sessions and awareness activities.
  • Timely submission of reports with proper documentation.
  • Active engagement and supervision of youth volunteers in activities.
  • Documentation of best practices and success stories.
