ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To select a national team of qualified young men and women to lead, implement, and follow up on the activities of the Y-PEER network in Yemen, and to play an active role in leading and facilitating peer-to-peer educational sessions and raising awareness on issues related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH), mental health, peacebuilding, and youth empowerment.
GENERAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Age between 18 and 29 years.
- Demonstrated a leadership and influencing personality.
- Demonstrated passion for youth and community work.
- Previous experience in volunteering (preferably youth-focused).
- Strong teamwork and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to volunteering for at 4 months.
- Effective communication and representation skills.
- English language proficiency (preferred but not mandatory).
POSITION DESCRIPTION/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute to developing the annual work plans for Y-PEER Yemen.
- Support Design and implement youth initiatives according to project priorities and local needs.
- Facilitate peer-to-peer awareness sessions on SRHR, mental health, civic engagement, and youth leadership.
- Document activities and submit regular reports.
- Coordinate with relevant governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
- Support the production of youth-friendly awareness materials and media content.
- Organize awareness-raising events, community dialogues, and youth-led campaigns.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions, trainings, and workshops for youth on SRHR, life skills, peer education, and related themes.
DELIVERABLES:
- Activity and training reports.
- Youth network mapping and contact lists.
- Monthly progress updates.
- Documentation of stories of change and impact.
- Participation in evaluations or assessments when needed.
EXPECTED COMMITMENTS:
- Attend regular meetings and trainings.
- Actively participate in implementing the national Y-PEER plan.
- Adhere to the Y-PEER Code of Ethics and conduct guidelines.
- Represent the network positively at the local and regional levels.
