The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Team Leader, the Project Manager oversees the implementation and supervision of project activities, ensuring timely and high-quality planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring/evaluation. They adhere to sector-specific SOPs, guidelines, Sphere standards, and ethical values.

The PM is accountable for the efficient financial management of the project, following FMF’s model and donor regulations. They also supervise HR and logistics arrangements in collaboration with relevant departments.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the planning, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation and sets targets as included in the project description.
  • Guarantee efficient financial management for the project in compliance with FMF’s model and donor regulations.
  • Manage the implementation of the projects according to the proposal, donor agreement, and FMF’s policies and guidelines. Ensure projects are implemented to a high quality, on time, and against agreed-upon work plans, achieving desired results. Ensure accurate delivery of the definition of project scope and objectives to all project staff and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for smooth and timely implementation of activities within budget and scope.
  • Oversee activities implementation, including project kick-off, activity planning, reporting, and adherence to sector guidelines.
  • Review and prepare detailed activity plans and establish clear reporting and communication lines.
  • Provide capacity building and on-job coaching to the project team, evaluating their performance and conducting regular meetings to review the planning and discuss the main concerns to focus on for the upcoming period.
  • Undertake responsibility for motivating and leading a diverse and high number of staff. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with all project staff and appropriate monitoring tools to monitor the progress and quality of the project.
  • Prepare regular project monitoring updates for FMF and donors, ensuring adherence to sector guidelines, and provide on-job coaching for quality delivery.
  • Manage project finances and procurement, including budget planning, approvals, and monitoring of budget expenditure status against actual costs and the financial plan for the remaining project implementation period.
  • Perform risk management to minimize risks and proactively create urgent solutions and contingency plans for problems that may affect work progress.
  • Maintain and foster good relationships and strong external and internal representation with other INGOs, NNGOs, relevant clusters and local authorities in areas of responsibility (AoR).
  • Collaborate with the MEAL department on data collection, management, and analysis and verify the quality of data collected from field staff.
  • Holds final responsibility for all support documents (means of verification) and general project documents.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, informative and quality weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and final reports, as per the set-out schedule in accordance with the donor’s regulations and requirements.
  • Delivers regular communication products on the project to be used by the FMF communication department in different outlets.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medicine, public health, and Nutrition with a strong management background.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing health and nutrition projects, preferably with INGOs/NGOs.
  • Experience in managing GMS System
  • Experience in project cycle management and budget management.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and diplomacy.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in team management and motivation.
  • Attention to detail and organized approach to tasks.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality results in a stressful environment
