The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. Job Description:

The CP Social Worker is responsible for providing direct case management services to individuals identified during assessments or referred internally or by other agencies. They will assess their needs for necessary referrals and ensure appropriate assistance. The CP Social Worker will supervise individual case management activities, oversee group PSS sessions, and contribute to the development of an effective referral system. They will closely coordinate with the Protection Assistant to ensure quality case management assistance and maintain communication with local authorities and stakeholders.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Case management:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children at risk or victims of abuse, violence, or exploitation.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for children and ensure their best interests are prioritized.
  • Provide counseling, psychosocial support, and guidance to children and their families.
  • Regularly monitor and review cases, ensuring appropriate follow-up and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records/documentation.

Community Engagement and Mobilization:

  • Conduct community outreach to identify child protection concerns and promote awareness of child rights and protection.
  • Organize and facilitate community-based activities, including support groups, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building sessions.
  • Collaborate with community leaders, parents, and caregivers to foster a protective environment for children.
  • Strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms and develop referral pathways.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other child protection actors and service providers to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and community-based organizations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Ensure proper documentation of case files, assessments, interventions, and referrals.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts, including data collection and analysis.

Capacity Building:

  • Provide training and capacity-building support to community members, volunteers, and stakeholders on child protection issues, child rights, and relevant interventions.
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A university degree in in social sciences or any other relevant subject or any related field.
  • Additional training or certification in child protection, case management, or related areas is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct services to children at risk or affected by child protection issues.
  • Proven experience in conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing psychosocial support to children and their families.
  • Familiarity with mobile service delivery approaches and community-based child protection interventions is an advantage.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in child protection programs.
  • Strong understanding of child protection principles, child rights, and relevant international standards and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect children’s autonomy, and prioritize their safety and well-being.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the operational area and work in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with different sectoral Service Providers and referral pathways.
  • Excellent observation, analytical and report writing skills.
  • Native Arabic and strong English skills are essential.
  • Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission, and vision of FMF.
  • Be available for regular training provided by FMF and support in identifying staff training needs.
  • Respect confidentiality of data and information.
  • Attention to details and ability to communicate professionally and effectively – practical and problem-solver.
  • Ability to deal with heavy work pressure.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
