Job Description:

The CP Mobile Social Worker is responsible for providing direct case management services to children at risk of or affected by child protection issues in a mobile setting. They will conduct assessments, develop care plans, and offer emotional support, counseling, and psychosocial assistance to children and their families. The CP Mobile Social Worker will conduct outreach activities, monitor, and follow up on cases, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support and promote child protection. They will also contribute to capacity-building efforts and raise awareness about child protection issues within the community.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Case management:

  • Conduct assessments of children at risk of or affected by child protection issues, including abuse, exploitation, neglect, or separation.
  • Offer emotional support, counseling, and psychosocial assistance to children, ensuring their well-being and promoting their rights.
  • Develop individualized care plans for children, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to address their specific needs and promote their safety and recovery.

Outreach and mobile service delivery:

  • Conduct regular outreach activities in targeted communities to identify and reach out to children at risk or in need of child protection services.
  • Provide mobile support services to children in their communities, ensuring their safety, confidentiality, and access to essential services.
  • Collaborate with community leaders and local stakeholders to raise awareness about child protection issues, promote prevention strategies, and facilitate community engagement.

Case monitoring and follow-up:

  • Conduct regular visits to children and their families to monitor the progress of the case management plan and assess the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Establish and maintain a strong network of referral services, including health centers, schools, legal aid providers, and specialized child protection agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for children.
  • Coordinate and follow up on the provision of necessary services and interventions, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to children’s needs.

Capacity building and awareness:

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for community members, parents, caregivers, and relevant stakeholders on child protection, child rights, and positive parenting techniques.
  • Support the development and implementation of community-based child protection mechanisms to prevent and respond to child protection issues.
  • Advocate for the integration of child protection principles and practices in the work of local institutions, service providers, and community structures.

Documentation and reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of case management activities, ensuring compliance with data protection protocols.
  • Prepare regular reports on activities, achievements, challenges, and recommendations for program improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure the impact and effectiveness of child protection interventions.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A university degree in in social sciences or any other relevant subject or any related field.
  • Additional training or certification in child protection, case management, or related areas is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing direct services to children at risk or affected by child protection issues.
  • Proven experience in conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing psychosocial support to children and their families.
  • Familiarity with mobile service delivery approaches and community-based child protection interventions is an advantage.
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts, preferably in child protection programs.
  • Strong understanding of child protection principles, child rights, and relevant international standards and frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect children’s autonomy, and prioritize their safety and well-being.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the operational area and work in challenging environments.
  • Demonstrable experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with different sectoral Service Providers and referral pathways.
  • Excellent observation, analytical and report writing skills.
  • Native Arabic and strong English skills are essential.
  • Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission, and vision of FMF.
  • Be available for regular training provided by FMF and support in identifying staff training needs.
  • Respect confidentiality of data and information.
  • Attention to details and ability to communicate professionally and effectively – practical and problem-solver.
  • Ability to deal with heavy work pressure.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
