ABOUT FMF:
The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
FMF is implementing an emergency response in Hays and Al Khawkha Districts of Al Hodeida Governorate. The response focuses on providing integrated preventive and curative nutrition and health services to vulnerable populations, including under-five children, pregnant and lactating women (PLW), persons with disabilities (PWD) and other marginalized people. The assistance is being provided in both the host community and internally displaced persons (IDP) sites.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the initial Human centered approach on target communities to understand the socio-cultural context and establish behavioral barriers and influencers.
- Lead in regular community sensitization and mobilization activities aiming towards creating awareness on the SBCC messages among the community members and other stakeholders.
- Support the design and development of SBCC strategies and action plan that will be most effective in delivering the project goals and objectives and take lead in the implementation.
- Initiate community dialogue meetings following the set protocol and guidelines to establish solution finding initiatives that would improve uptake and utilization of project messages.
- Maintain open line of communication with the community to obtain feedback, complaints and work with the community mobilizers to maintain a log of the feedback and complaints and come up with corrective actions.
- Mobilize social support at all levels to create and sustain an enabling environment for the delivery of the intervention.
- Regularly monitor field activities, maintain a working relationship between team member and community
- Design and plan for all types of Campaigns and help in conducting assessments and surveys as needed.
- Organize trainings and exposure to improve knowledge and skill of the project communities and volunteers to deliver high-quality community-based activities.
- Ensure the SBCC activity implementation, monitoring and addressing all supply/materials needs for all SBCC-related activities.
- Monitor the performance of community mobilizers and other community service providers.
- Monitor and provide supportive supervision to community mobilizers s as they deliver SBCC project activities at community level.
- Develop reporting tools for community mobilizers and compile weekly and monthly reports of SBCC sessions conducted and people reached with key messages.
- Document all lessons and continually improve the quality of the project delivery.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in the social/behavioral sciences, (Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Communication, Public Relations and Health Promotion and Education).
- 1- 2 Years of experience in a similar position.
- Previous experience in coordinating with GHO, DHO, clusters, and community committees and leaders.
- Strong reporting skills are required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are highly preferred.
- Problem-solving skills in resource-constrained environments.
- Proficiency in using MS Office.
