FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE IN AHWAR: A RADICAL
TRANSFORMATION BRINGS HOPE

Ahwar District in Abyan Province is renowned for its special location on the international coastal road linking the provinces of Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, and Aden. It shines like a jewel amidst Yemen’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. The region has a deep-rooted history and culture but has faced significant challenges in healthcare. Ahwar General Hospital, established in the 1970s, lacked an operating room for many years, limiting it to providing only primary medical services. This lack of medical infrastructure forced residents to travel to other cities for necessary treatment, increasing their suffering and financial burden.
