About FMF:

The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design/ implementation of the MEAL activities that take place in the targeted districts according to directions provided by MEAL department.
  • Conduct regular field visits to the targeted districts to ensure the distribution of food / cash assistance to targeted beneficiary families.
  • Assist in training field team and conducting various field surveys and verifications according to the need of work, using the shared forms.
  • Commitment to follow-up work during distribution days, and prepare a detailed report on the entire distribution process.
  • Ensure the validity of the distribution FDPs/ outlets and their conformity to the criteria according to the shared standards.
  • Assist in establishing a proper response mechanism to complaints/ issues raised by beneficiaries and stakeholders, according to FMF’s specific system, and provide solutions and treatments in a timely manner.
  • Conduct the terminal evaluation of the project according to the criteria and forms including assistance in evaluating the work of the field team.
  • Prepare evaluation reports during and after distribution to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Assist in Preparation of weekly, monthly and periodic follow-up reports for all project MEAL activities in the targeted districts.
  • Contribute to prepare follow-up plans for improving the quality of humanitarian work provided by the Foundation.
  • Ensuring effective participation in organizing the paper and electronic archives of reports and important documents and sending them upon request.
  • Defining and implementing the key project performance indicators as well as monitoring them throughout the duration of project.
  •  Assist the project staff in clarifying project information needs, and support on ways to properly document, organize and capture progress.
  • Draft tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures under guidance of the line supervisor (eg. logical framework, project performance tracking, indicators)
  • Any other tasks as per requested.

Position requirements:

  • A university degree in Social Sciences, Computer sciences, or any other relevant subject or any related field.
  • 2 years of experience working in MEAL.
  • Prior familiarity with the implementation of protection projects preferred (sufficient technical knowledge).
  • Demonstrated experience in deadline driven reporting environment.
  • Experience in providing training and support to project staff.
  • Strong conceptual and practical understanding of protection issues and specifically FMF’s approach to and role in protection work including analysis and advocacy.
  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking including experience developing analysis and strategies for protection.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and protection guidelines.
  • Native Arabic and strong English skills are essential.
