The Field Medical Foundation (FMF) has been operating in Yemen for since 2012 during even the most dangerous peak of the conflict in the region. Our staff of dedicated professionals and passionate volunteers are the helping hand that delivers aid from local and/or international partners to those who require it the most, in a country that was already suffering before the war. Today we have helped humanitarian aid reach the hands of more than 9 million vulnerable people in Yemen to help them not only to survive but also to rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a comprehensive approach to providing aid through interventions, which is why we work in almost all sectors of international emergency relief.

Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Education Assistant, The Community Mobilizer is responsible for:
* Promoting our project in community and creating awareness on education.
* Organize capacity building for teachers, parents, and other duty bearers in the community on project components.
* Monitoring and supporting all program activities in the field, conducting regular meetings with parents, schools and local council to identify issues and proposing solutions to address them.
* The Community Mobilizer will ensure that project activities are consistent with FMF programming principles and approaches, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, enable children to attain their rights.
- SCOPE OF ROLE:
Role Dimensions: communication with stakeholders and implementation of project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation
* Mobilize communities (leaders, parents, etc.) and disseminate information about the project to promote community support.
* Hold regular meetings with stakeholders including schools, local councils and other organizations serving children and community to familiarize them with the projects and its objectives and engage them in the process.
* Submit regular updates, reports and case studies on success stories and lessons learned
* Collect data from the field in line with program indicators.
* Keep proper records of field expenditures when appropriate and report on these to the Program
- Collaboration and Representation
* Represent FMF in a professional manner.
* Liaise with other stakeholders, including schools, local leaders, partners and participates in relevant meetings.
* Collaboration with other Community Mobilizers in Al-Aber to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches.
* Represent programming with local government, NGOs, communities and within FMF as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
* B.S. education or adequate equivalent work/life experience;
* Experience with community development, working with children and schools;
* Strong understanding of the situation of the IDP and returnee children (girls and boys);
* Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
* Strong Organizational skills;
* Advocacy and coordination skills;
* Ability to conduct outreach at the community level;
* Excellent sense of judgment, humor and patience;
* Good computer skills (MS Office).
