Job Title: District Coordinator (Re-Advertised)

Location: Abyan governorate- Zingibar district.
Period: 10 months.
Terms: Full Time Position.

Background

FMF is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2012.

Position Overview:

FMF is implementing Health, Nutrition and C4D project in Abyan governorate in Zingibar district to deliver quality life-saving services for Zingibar district host and IDP communities. District coordinator who is following:

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the planning, implementing and monitoring of the activities of the project.
  • Build robust work relations with the local authorities and other implementing NGOs as well as INGOs.
  • Ensure that Health, Nutrition and C4D activities are appropriately planned, that delays and constraints are documented, and solutions identified.
  • Participate in the design of the distribution plans and the implementation of project support in the respective locations as well as field visits to the project sites.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to provide technical oversights and assist the project management team as well as the field staff to identify issues that need timely action and support at different levels.
  • Assist in documenting and sharing lessons learnt for future Health, Nutrition and C4D project improvement.
  • Build volunteers capacity in key areas including during the field visits.
  • Lead the team of project team in the field and coordinate with them as well as held coordination meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Conduct regular field visits to the Health Facility (HF) and Medical Mobile Clinic (MMC) sites and monitoring the daily activities of the project.
  • Any other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health or any related fields
  • Experience in community mobilization and capacity building
  • 1-2 years community work experience, preferably related to the type of project
  • Excellent skills in monitoring implementation of program activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication verbally and in writing as well as inter-personal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field sites
  • Become conversant with the various generic tools such as assessment and survey techniques and questionnaires.
  • Ability to identify potential problems before they occur. Proactive in preparation and uses initiative in response.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, knowledge of English is desirable
  • Good computer skills
